The Chemistry of Sweat and Burnout.

Why standard water feels empty when you are entirely depleted.

01. If you only read three lines, make them these

Before diving into the legal definitions and the cellular biology, here is the baseline truth of UpBy9:

  1. Our text is legally restricted on purpose. If we say “magnesium contributes to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue,” it is because that exact sentence is authorised in the government register.

We don't stretch the words or add marketing adjectives.

  2. We walked away from the market's favorite water-absorption claim to avoid loading you with sugar. To legally claim a formula "enhances the absorption of water," the law requires adding massive amounts of glucose.

    We refused.

  3. Your sweat is salty. UpBy9 is just three raw minerals for salty sweat. That’s the honest core.

    Everything else is packaging.

02. Water is a solvent, not a spark

You finish a brutal session. You step out of a 90°C sauna. Or you look up from your screen at 3 PM and your brain feels like wet cement. Your first instinct is to grab a large glass of plain water.

That instinct is half right, but it misses the actual physics of your system.

Your nervous system doesn't run on pure fluid volume. It runs on electrical pathways. Every signal—from contracting a muscle to reading this text—relies on basic cellular biology.

Your cell membranes use a continuous exchange mechanism to maintain an electrical gradient across your cells.

This gradient is the raw baseline voltage your system uses to interact with the world.

When you sweat intensely, you don't just leak water. You leak the specific mineral elements that allow these pathways to function.

03. The dilution trap

When you have leaked mineral-rich sweat, replacing it with plain, empty water doesn't return your system to baseline.

It simply dilutes the concentration of minerals remaining in your bloodstream.

Exercise physiology data shows exactly what intense output looks like:

  • The Fluid Scale: Sweat rates of 1–3 litres per hour are incredibly common during heavy physical stress.

  • The Mineral Drain: Sodium losses aren't uniform; they range from 200mg to over 2,000mg per litre of sweat depending entirely on your individual biology.

Replacing the fluid volume without replacing the raw cargo isn't a neutral act. It is a diluting act.

04. What the register actually allows us to say

The nutrition and health claims rules don’t care about brands; they care about nutrients.

If your formula delivers a high enough dose of a nutrient per serving, you can use the exact pre-approved line for that nutrient.

Not more. Not less.

Magnesium

Because every sachet packs a high dose of bioavailable Magnesium Citrate, the law allows us to state these official biological facts:

  • Magnesium contributes to a reduction of tiredness and fatigue.

  • Magnesium contributes to normal muscle function.

  • Magnesium contributes to electrolyte balance.

Potassium

Because we use clean Potassium Chloride, the register allows these lines:

  • Potassium contributes to normal functioning of the nervous system.

  • Potassium contributes to normal muscle function.

  • Potassium contributes to the maintenance of normal blood pressure.

The Sodium Reality

You will notice we do not print any health claims for Sodium on our box or this website.

Why? Because the Great Britain NHC Register contains zero authorized health claims for sodium.

The regulators do not allow brands to claim sodium "improves performance" or "functions in the muscles."

We don't try to creatively rewrite the law to trick the ad regulators.

We deliver 800mg of raw sodium per sachet simply because it represents a meaningful baseline dose to account for the primary element lost when you turn up the heat.

It isn't a tailored prescription for your exact biological output—because as we just established, everyone leaks differently.

It is a matter of environmental chemistry, not a health claim.

05. Why standard sports drinks don't fit our constraint

Most mainstream formulas take a tiny dusting of minerals and drown them in a massive volume of sugar, synthetic flavorings, and bright neon dyes.

That isn't a criticism. It is a different product built for a different demographic.

They are specifically chasing the authorized carbohydrate-electrolyte mechanism designed to fuel long-distance endurance athletes over several hours.

We are not doing that.

We chose zero sugar. We don't want or need the carbohydrate absorption pathway, and we aren't competing for space on the grocery store shelf.

We just wanted the three raw minerals in high doses.

06.What we are not claiming

Let's make the boundaries perfectly clear before you join the manifest:

  • No Performance Hype: We do not claim UpBy9 makes you faster, stronger, or gives you superhuman focus.

  • No Hydration Claims: We do not claim this product "hydrates" you better than water or prevents medical conditions.

We are stating only what the physical evidence supports: Magnesium and Potassium contribute to normal muscle function, normal nervous system operation, and the reduction of tiredness and fatigue.

If your system is empty after a heavy sweat, this helps replace some of the hardware.

Don't buy it for the taste. Buy it for the voltage.
